What getplaid.direct keeps about your server, for how long, and what this website keeps about you: nothing.

Kept

What getplaid.direct stores

Only once you turn remote access on, and only this, per server:

  • A random id, 6 characters
  • A name derived from your server’s name, like living-room
  • A hash (SHA-256) of the server’s secret token, never the token itself
  • Your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
  • The external port your router forwards
  • The PLAID version
  • When the server registered and when it was last seen
  • While a certificate is issued, temporary DNS challenge values, which expire after an hour

Never

What it never sees

Your videos, your libraries, your accounts, or who watches what. Video goes straight from your server to the screen; getplaid.direct only answers DNS.

Gone

When it’s deleted

At once, when you turn remote access off. Automatically, when a server hasn’t been seen for 30 days.

Server

The PLAID server itself

No telemetry. To match your films, it sends TMDB and fanart.tv their titles, years and ids, from your server’s IP. Nothing about your accounts or what anyone watches.

Site

This website

No analytics, no cookies, no third-party scripts or fonts. If you switch to the light theme, that choice is stored in your browser only and never sent anywhere.
